Okorye Tree, our small restaurant and bar sharing a building with Black Star Surf Shop, is an established part of the Busua Beach community! As you can see from the picture, the restaurant seating is centered around a big shady tree that we have named the Okorye Tree- the word “Okorye” is derived from Fanti, one of the local languages, and means “unity” or “place where people gather as one”. Many people of different nationalities, races, religions and interests have gathered under the Okorye Tree to share in each others company and we hope that this tradition continues.

Relaxed & smiling — the normal Okorye crowd

The restaurant was designed to allow you to dine under the stars, sun or shade and enjoy our truly international menu and the incredible views- which all come together make for an incredible dinning experience. The three levels of wood decks spill out onto the beach and giving our customers an awesome view of the ocean and nearby Abokwa Island. We cant think of a better way to watch the surfers ride the waves then relaxing under a shaded tree and enjoying the ocean breeze with a Margarita, cold beer or smoothie and eating a Burrito or one of our other, exotic-for-Ghana treats!

Please view our full menu which includes breakfast (served all day), lunch and dinner. We buy our produce and meats from local sources whenever possible, supporting our local farmers and fishermen. We serve soft drinks, call “minerals” and assorted snacks. There are also tropical drinks such as margaritas and piná coladas.

We will also honor our commitment towards having the coldest beer in Ghana. We now have a deep freeze process which makes our beers even colder. This is important because the beer in Ghana is not very good!
