Surf n’ Shine Volunteer Packages
While Black Star was started to make it possible for locals and travelers to ride the waves of Busua, we were also founded with the idea of advocating, supporting and participating in local development projects. Our projects are designed in conjunction with local communities and NGO's to improve the overall quality of life of the people of our village and surrounding areas.

At Black Star, we believe there are many benefits to combining development, volunteer opportunities, cross-cultural exchange and surfing. This belief has led to collaboration between Black Star Surf and two NGO's working in Busua; Sandshoe (based in Sweden) and Black Star Development Project (BSD NGO).

The result of this collaboration is the Surf N' Shine surf volunteerism program, the first and only surf volunteerism program in West Africa. The Surf N' Shine program allows people from Ghana and around the world to come to Busua and learn to surf, learn about the local culture and people, and receive an ultra-rewarding volunteer experience. We also offer alternative packages for intermediate to advanced surfers who would prefer to go on a surf tour and also do volunteer work.

We will accept our first Surf N Shine volunteers on October 1st, 2012, so sign up now!. The Surf N' Shine packages will include one price for all accommodation, food, surfing lessons, equipment and much more.
